Did you know that 31% of people supported by Epic Opportunities live with a mental health concern? And of those, none have specific therapy for neurodivergent populations. This gap in care is due to various barriers, including lack of knowledge, accommodation, stigma, and communication barriers. Despite these challenges, individuals with disabilities demonstrate incredible strength and resilience every day. They navigate a world that is not always designed with their needs in mind, and yet they persevere, showing us the true meaning of courage and determination.
To address the barriers they face in accessing mental health care, Epic Opportunities has created the Bridging the Gap initiative. This initiative is dedicated to ensuring inclusive care, holistic intervention, and overall well-being for everyone. A portion of previous proceeds from the "I Am Strong" necklace supported the Bridging the Gap initiative, helping to bridge the gap in mental health care for individuals with disabilities.
